Recovery Retreats
A medical recovery retreat is a facility that is especially set up for recovering from procedures and/or treatments. It's a "half-way house" between the hospital and the hotel. Many are directly linked to a hospital, and part of the patient's medical journey includes "stepping down" from the hospital to the recovery facility.
The recovery retreats usually include meals delivered to the private room 3 times a day, post surgery nursing care, and a place for a companion to stay with the patient. The rooms are more luxurious than a hospital room. Many facilities are located outside of the bustling city for a quiet, relaxing recovery atmosphere.
Nursing care is part of the package, and may include dressing changes, medication monitoring, etc. Physicians are on call if not in attendance. |
